Steam Fest results - March 2025

 It's pretty much over at this point, and I don't expect any major changes in the final day, so I'll post this now.

I had two games during the Steam Fest, Prophecrawl and Static Paradox. I'll quickly go over it.

Prophecrawl

I've lowered the price from 9.99 to 4.99, mainly since it's multiplayer based so people buy more copies for their friends. The wishlist gain was modest. Better than what I expected due to the graphics but not too much of a wishlist gain compared to how well Static Paradox did. I'd consider it a success.

Static Paradox

This game has gotten the most wishlists during a steam fest than any other game I have put into a steam fest. It was a little bit more than Throne Requiem's steam fest wishlist gain. I'm guessing tomorrow it will get around 50 more wishlists, since the final day is mostly inconsequential. It really shows how much more popular the Horror genre is compared to anything else when a simpler game like this in the horror genre did better than something as complex as Throne Requiem. I do understand that I have to make better monster designs in the future with slowing the game down further for the slow burn feel, since having an enemy of any kind in the first area removed the built up for the tension for the first monster. Where the sound design was good, but having more care with showcasing enemies is important at the start. This game will probably do pretty well overall. 

Anything else?

I'm 100% going to do more horror games in the future, probably not this moment, since I have a small test side project and Conviction Chronicles to focus on. I hope to release a demo for that tomorrow. But it seems very much worth it to focus on horror like projects of some kind, or to focus on anime like games for aesthetics. I do have a bunch of ideas, so hopefully it goes well when I get there. All of this requires me to get a lot better at 3D modeling and animating. Animating since I won't be able to rely on Miximo for animations for too much longer, and certain monster designs will not work with it. When I get there I'll have to figure out some sort of Moccap or animation solution to get it done well.

I'm going to release Prophecrawl and Static Paradox this week sometime. Static Paradox on the 7th, and Prophecrawl on the 6th. It should go well.
