Static Paradox blog post #5 - Trailer and OST

 This is covering the trailer and the OST.

It's simple but is made to make more tension over time, I think it works well. Originally the start was going to be slower, but it was too slow for how long people watch trailers, so I replaced it with something  right up your face.

21 songs, and I learned a lot with making sound effects with decent droning music, so most songs are more something in the background for the sound effects to be stronger. I like how it came out.

Have to finish some stuff up to prepare it for a steam page, then it's basically done. I am glad it didn't take too long to make.

Steam Fest results - March 2025

 It's pretty much over at this point, and I don't expect any major changes in the final day, so I'll post this now. I had two games during the Steam Fest, Prophecrawl and Static Paradox. I'll quickly go over it. Prophecrawl I've lowered the price from 9.99 to 4.99, mainly since it's multiplayer based so people buy more copies for their friends. The wishlist gain was modest. Better than what I expected due to the graphics but not too much of a wishlist gain compared to how well Static Paradox did. I'd consider it a success. Static Paradox This game has gotten the most wishlists during a steam fest than any other game I have put into a steam fest. It was a little bit more than Throne Requiem's steam fest wishlist gain. I'm guessing tomorrow it will get around 50 more wishlists, since the final day is mostly inconsequential. It really shows how much more popular the Horror genre is compared to anything else when a simpler game like this in the horror ge...

Static Paradox blog post #7 - Game has released

 Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3331690/Static_Paradox/ Almost forgot to post this. But it's 9.99, and for the first full on horror game I've made, I think it came out well. I do understand the strength and weaknesses for the future with this game. I knew horror games were popular, but I didn't expect the wishlist total this ended up getting for a first go around on the genre. So I will make more horror games in the future, especially if those does better than what I expect. It was fun to make. Anything else? Have to get better at 3D modeling in general and adding mechanics that fit this genre overall, but I think this will do well.

Static Paradox blog post #2 - Second Area done

 This ended up being quicker to make than I thought. After defeating the first area, there is one of six variations chosen for the next area. They have minor differences, mainly the monster the player has to deal with. The location The building is very tight and is shaped as a cross, with lots of couches and other objects. The player can spawn on any of the 4 ends. The middle has a gun that is used for defense, but also required to leave. Every end has a key to one of the four doors. There are four locked rooms. They act as safe rooms and one of them has a lever, that can only be activated from a gunshot. The gunshot opens a fifth hidden door around the middle to leave. The lever location and the key locations are randomized no matter what variation you are on, and they have no names to point out right away where things go outside the generalizations.  Couches will also randomly rotate at the start, and they can be moved slowly.
